The purpose of the American Legion is to serve the needs of
Veterans of all wars, their widows, and dependent children.  We are
also active in developing and promoting legislative activities that
establish or protect the rights of Veterans.

Here in Pelham,  that serves many  of our Veterans in Westchester
County.  Our members are involved in  many activities at the VA that
will benefit our Veteran residents.

Organization Purpose
As stated in the preamble to the Constitution of the American
Legion, "For God and Country we associate ourselves together for
the following purposes:
To uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of
America; to maintain law and order; to foster and perpetuate a
one-hundred percent Americanism; to preserve the memories and
incidents of our association in the Great Wars; to inculcate a sense
of individual obligation to the community, state and nation; to
combat the autocracy of both the classes and the masses; to make
right the master of might; to promote peace and good will on earth;
to safeguard and transmit to posterity the principles of justice,
freedom and democracy; to consecrate and sanctify our
comradeship by our devotion to mutual helpfulness."  We hope to
add new members so we will be able to grow and expand. We also
want to have fun while when we are together and working on
projects. By developing relationships and friendships, the
organization will become even stronger.

Our Mission
Our mission is to further promote the interests of our
organization and our members to the community. We strive to make
a difference by educating the public and expanding our reach.
